Springfield Police Chief (Right) issued a Face Mask ticket after catching a Moto-mart Customer without one

Springfield, Illinois – On November 12, 2020, Springfield Police Chief, Kenny Winslow observed a customer without a facemask inside Moto-Mart gas station, located at 610 S Grand Ave E. around 1:04 p.m.

According to a ticket that Chief Winslow issued the customer, Winslow wrote that the customer told him that the “pandemic is fake and that he’s been exposed several time but never got (it)” “If you’re so worried, how come you’re not wearing gloves” and that he was “just trying to pay for his shit.”

After the customer said this to the Chief, the customer was issued an ordinance violation for failing to wear a face mask. The customer has a hearing scheduled on January 6, 2021 at 8:30 a.m., in the City Council Chambers at the Municipal Center West.
