Springfield, Illinois – According to the Capital Area Career Center Facebook page, two additional students have tested positive for COVID-19.
Both positive COVID-19 students were last in the building on Friday, November 13, 2020 in the afternoon class. One of the students attended the Building Trades Program and the other student attended the Photography Program.
The total number of CACC students who have tested positive for COVID-19 is 5 out of their 880 high school students.
According to Jodi Ferriell, the Capital Area Career Center Director, she said, “we immediately put our contact tracing plan into action to determine which students and staff should quarantine due to possible exposure. All students and staff who might have potential exposure from prolonged close contact have been notified.”
At this time, approximately 730 students are attending in-person learning based off of the school’s hybrid model which is online learning on Monday’s and in-person learning on Tuesday through Friday.
